Carving Pumpkins

Yesterday, E told me he wasn’t interested in Halloween because it is a “Christian” holiday. This made me laugh really hard, especially since there are so many fundamentalist Christians who oppose the holiday. I decided the one way to change his mind was to get him to carve pumpkins with our 11-month-old niece. And I think I succeeded:

E willingly cut and gutted the pumpkin.

He designed the face and cut it out.

He was so proud of the final results.

Meanwhile, Kimberly and Lily were busy with their own pumpkin:

But Lily had the most fun of all:

She cleaned the pumpkin.

And ate the seeds.

E is wiping pumpkin, not sweat, from his forehead.

THE RESULTS:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
