Unbelievable

I just found out that school will start again at the beginning of August, a full two months earlier than this year. Why? Because Erzurum is hosting the University Winter Olympics in 2011. So, someone thinks it makes sense to start school two months early and then give the students a three-month vacation during the olympics (which only last 16 days). This makes zero sense to me. First, I need longer than a one-month holiday to recuperate. I mean, when will I come home? Second, my students already forget everything during the semester break. They will know nothing if they have a three-month break. Third, the olympics last only 16 days!
